About This Event
Discus throw rewards rotational power, timing, and release angle. China, Kazakhstan, and India have produced Asia’s elite discus throwers with distances regularly exceeding 60 metres.
Format
Qualification then six throws in the final. Longest valid throw wins. Athletes compete within a 2.5m circle and must throw into a 34.92° sector.
Nations to Watch
China and Kazakhstan lead Asian discus. India has improved significantly. Sri Lanka, Saudi Arabia, and Japan also field competitive throwers.
