About This Event
Javelin throw is India’s most celebrated athletics event since Neeraj Chopra’s historic 2020 Olympic gold. Japan, Sri Lanka, China, and Pakistan also produce elite javelin throwers. Distances exceeding 80m are standard at the Asian Games elite level.
Format
Qualification followed by six throws in the final. Longest valid throw wins. Athletes must throw from a runway onto the sector, releasing the javelin from behind the arc.
