The Double Sculls (2x) brings together two rowers in one boat, each using two oars in a sculling action. The pair must function as a cohesive unit — any mismatch in rhythm reduces boat speed and efficiency.
Format
Heats and repechages determine the finalists who race over 2000 metres. The first pair to cross the finish line wins gold. Coaches spend considerable time matching pairs for similar height, strength, and stroke style to maximise boat speed.
Nations to Watch
