About This Event
Teqball is a sport played on a specially curved table using a football (soccer ball). Players use any part of their body except arms and hands to hit the ball over the net. The game was invented in Hungary in 2012 and has grown rapidly across Asia. At the 2026 Asian Games, Teqball competes for the first time as a full medal sport.
Format
The Men’s Singles competition involves a round-robin group stage followed by knockout rounds. Each match is played as a best-of-three sets format, with sets played to 12 points. Players must win by at least 2 points. The final match determines the gold medal winner.
Nations to Watch
China, South Korea, and Japan are expected to lead the Asian Teqball circuit, having invested heavily in the sport since FITEQ (the world governing body) confirmed its Asian Games inclusion.
