About This Event
The Mixed Team Trap event pairs a male and female shooter from each nation to compete together on the trap range. Both athletes shoot alternately at clay targets launched from underground bunkers. Combined team scores across all targets determine the winner. The format blends individual clay target shooting skills with the pressure of team competition.
Format
Qualification over 75 targets each determines the 6 finalist teams. The final uses an elimination format over combined targets. The team that breaks the most combined targets through to the end wins gold. Ties are resolved by shoot-off.
Nations to Watch
Qatar and Kuwait combine their strong individual trap shooters into formidable mixed teams. Japan, China, and South Korea also field competitive pairs. The Gulf nations’ investment in clay target shooting infrastructure gives them a systematic advantage in both individual and team shotgun events.
