About This Event
The 1500m Freestyle — the ‘metric mile’ of swimming — is the ultimate endurance event. Swimmers complete 30 lengths of the 50-metre pool, requiring exceptional aerobic fitness, mental fortitude, and tactical awareness. The race is a fascinating battle of pace management, with the decisive moves often coming in the final 300 metres.
Format
Single final race. Swimmers are seeded from qualifying times. At this distance, even small errors in pacing or technique are magnified over 30 lengths, making consistent execution across the race essential for medal contention.
