About This Event
The 4×100m Freestyle Relay brings together the four fastest sprint freestyle swimmers of each nation in a high-speed team battle. Each swimmer completes one 100-metre freestyle leg, with relay starts allowing dive entries timed to the incoming swimmer’s touch. Exchange timing and individual leg speed are both critical to the final result.
Format
Teams of 4 swimmers each complete a 100m freestyle leg. Legal relay exchanges are required — early takeovers result in disqualification. Nations typically nominate their best four sprint freestyle swimmers for maximum combined speed.
