About This Event
Women’s Skeet involves the same format as men’s skeet — shooting crossing clay targets from seven stations plus a centre position on a semicircular range. Athletes develop highly specialised gun-mount habits and lead calculations for each station. The event rewards athletes who can maintain consistent break rates across all seven shooting positions over 125 targets in qualification.
Format
125 qualification targets determine the 6 finalists who contest the elimination final over 50 additional targets. Athletes are progressively eliminated based on scores. Ties at any medal position are broken by shoot-off. The woman breaking the most targets wins gold.
Nations to Watch
Kuwait and Qatar are traditionally strong in women’s skeet at the Asian Games, benefiting from well-resourced shooting programmes. Japan, China, and South Korea also field competitive women’s skeet shooters. India and Chinese Taipei are developing competitive women’s shotgun shooting programmes.
