About This Event
Women’s Trampoline Gymnastics features the same format as the men’s event — a routine of 10 linked skills combining somersaults and twists to heights of up to 10 metres. The event requires exceptional body awareness and air sense, as athletes perform complex rotational combinations at great height before landing precisely on the trampoline surface.
Format
Qualification determines the 8 women who advance to the final. Each performs a 10-element routine scored on difficulty, execution, time of flight, and horizontal displacement. The combined score from all four judging components determines the gold medal winner.
Nations to Watch
China leads women’s trampoline gymnastics in Asia with consistent world-championship-level performers. Japan and South Korea have also developed strong women’s trampoline programmes.
