Asian Games Equestrian Competition is an intercontinental competition which involves competitors from Asian countries in a series of horse riding competitions. Competition involves being accurate, having endurance, being skilful and team working with the horse. Athletes compete for medals under international regulations established by the FEI.

Equestrian Disciplines at Asian Games 2026

Dressage

Dressage is referred to as the apex of horse training. A series of movements is performed in an arena with judges assessing rider and horse accuracy, balance, rhythm and harmony.

Eventing

Eventing is considered the ultimate equestrian challenge. It combines three phases:

  • Dressage
  • Cross-Country
  • Show Jumping

Versatility, endurance, courage and riding skill is tested in this discipline.

Jumping

Jumping involves race horses to jump a course of obstacles within a time limit. The goal of the riders is to ride through the course without fences being knocked over and without time penalties being incurred.

Asian Games-2026 are expected to take place in Japan with a variety of sports and events to be organised to host athletes from all over Asia.

The Equestrian Competition is at JRA Equestrian Park in Tokyo, a world-class venue where equestrian events have been held during the Tokyo Olympics. Dressage, Eventing and Jumping will be at the venue from 21st September to 4th October in all 3 disciplines.

Japan has chosen the Equestrian Park (Bajikoen) in Tokyo for the Asian Games 2026 Equestrian activities. A world class facility run by the Japan Racing Association which can accommodate Dressage, Eventing and Jumping and have hosted large international equestrian events.
