Asian Games 2026 Field Hockey 7th event – 25 sep

Friday, September 25th 2026, will also be filled with Pool Stage field hockey for both Men’s and Women’s field hockey at the 20th Asian Games. With the seventh day of the tournament just around the corner, each match is taking on increasing significance, as teams look to rack up crucial points and bolster their championships.

The preliminary round games for both tournaments will be at the Gifu Prefectural Green Stadium in Kakamigahara, Gifu Prefecture, Japan on the 25th of September.

Field Hockey Schedule – 25 September 2026

Both the women’s and men’s tournaments have a full day 7 of preliminary round matches. Such fixtures are in the pool stage, which is where teams fight to secure points and clear their way up the table.

Competition Format

The field hockey tournament will start with the Pool Stage (Preliminary Round).

  • Teams enter in pools. Teams enter in pools.
  • One team per group plays everyone else in the group.
  • If a player wins the game, he will receive key points in the standings.
  • The highest-placed teams make it to the knockout stage.
  • Goal difference or other official tie-breakers may be used to split the ranks in case of even points between teams.
