The two races will be held on the same specially built track, and official starting times will be announced closer to the Games.

Competition Format

The Mountain Biking finals will be held following the Cross-country Olympic (XCO) format.

All competitors begin at the same start and finish various laps of the 4km course in each race. The number of laps to be completed depends on the race officials and the desired race time. The first athlete to have crossed the required distance is the winner.
