What Is the Women’s Park Preliminary?
The Women’s Park Preliminary is the first stage of the women’s qualification for park competition. During this event, participants race each other timed laps in a skatepark built with bowls, curves and turns to advance to the following round. All runs will be evaluated based on different elements: difficulty, execution, height, speed, flow, creativity and overall consistency.
While the Street discipline emphasizes obstacles like rails and stairs, the Park discipline lets creativity sprout as smooth running, height, and a line around the park are all incentivized.
Event Format
The first event of the competition is the preliminary heats, where every skateboarder runs timed laps in a row in front of a jury. Each run is judged about the total quality and technical aspects of the run. After all heats are over, the top scorers will proceed to the final round where they will compete for the Asian Games medals in the two event groups having the highest score.
