Competition Format
Races are won by fractions of a second in Canoe Sprint, one of the cutting-edge and exciting disciplines in paddle sports.
The rules of the competition are:
- All the gold medal races are run on a 500 metre course.
- Nine lanes are available for the boats and they race side by side.
- First boat across the finish line gets gold medal.
- The nine finalists in each event are determined by the previous heats, semi-finals and ranking races.
