On Sunday, September 27, 2026, the Asian Games 2026 is entering a crucial phase, with Asia’s best surfers from around the region competing in the official Surfing Day 3 competition. This competition day is hosted at iconic Pacific Long Beach (Akabane Long Beach) in Tahara City, Aichi Prefecture, Japan, and includes the QF & SF stages where the field is reduced to the top four surfers competing for the medals that go to the Asian Games.

Competition Format

The knockout round of the competition will be played on September 27th. The quarter-finals will feature a matchup between the surfers who survived the last round.

In the Semifinals, the top 4 players will be made up, and the winners will go straight to the Finals. The victorious semi-finalists go to the Gold Medal Final and the other semi-finalists go to the Bronze Medal final. This way, each heat can have a direct impact on the podium at the Asian Games.
