Indonesia Archery at Asian Games 2026 – Team, Events & Medal Hopes
Indonesia’s Archery Program
Archery is one of Indonesia’s most reliable medal sports at the Asian Games. The Indonesian Archery Association (Perpani) has developed a competitive national program that produces athletes who qualify for World Archery Championships and the Olympics. Indonesia has won multiple Asian Games medals in recurve archery and has a growing presence in compound events.

Scoring System
In Olympic recurve archery, arrows are shot from 70 meters to a 122cm target. Individual match play uses a set-point system — each set of 3 arrows determines a winner (2 set points); first to 6 set points wins the match. Team matches use 24-arrow rounds with a cumulative score. Compound archery uses a direct cumulative score format from 50 meters to a smaller 80cm target with a defined 10-ring X for tiebreaks.
Key Rivals
South Korea is the dominant force in Asian and global archery, especially in recurve events. South Korean archers have won consecutive Olympic team gold medals and hold world records in multiple categories. China is the second-strongest recurve nation in Asia. Indonesia must typically beat these two to reach a final, making bronze their most realistic target unless South Korea or China faces upsets in the bracket.
Indonesia’s Medal Targets
Indonesia’s most achievable Asian Games archery medals are in individual recurve events, where a single outstanding performance can advance through the bracket regardless of team depth. In compound archery, Indonesia has been developing athletes who are competitive at the regional level. The Perpani selection trials determine which archers enter each event based on qualifying scores.
