About This Event
The Parallel Bars event features two bars set at the same height (195cm) and parallel to each other. Gymnasts swing, hold, and perform release moves between and above the bars using arm, shoulder, and core strength. The combination of strength holds like the Manna or L-sit with dynamic swing elements and spectacular releases defines elite parallel bars gymnastics.
Format
The 8 top qualifiers on parallel bars (maximum 2 per country) contest the apparatus final. Each performs a routine scored on difficulty (D-score) and execution (E-score). The highest combined score wins gold. The judge panel evaluates body angle, extension, and amplitude of swing elements.
Nations to Watch
