Athletics Day 6 Schedule

The official Day 6 athletics program is split into an afternoon ‘prep session’ and a ‘medal evening’ to ensure athletes are as ready as they can be for one of the largest evenings of the championships.

Morning Session

The morning schedule is dedicated to athlete preparation rather than medal competition. Activities include:

  • Athlete registration and final check-ins
  • Equipment inspection and technical verification
  • Implement weighing for throwing events
  • Warm-up and training sessions
  • Final lane and start position confirmations
  • Distance athlete preparation
  • Recovery and physiotherapy before evening finals

The morning session has no gold medal competition which will ensure the athlete has energy for the event that is to decide the outcome of the day.

Evening Session

The evening session takes place entirely inside the main stadium under floodlights and features all nine gold medal finals.
