Men’s Lead Semifinals
The Men’s Lead Semifinals begin at 5:00 PM JST and conclude at 7:30 PM JST, featuring many of Asia’s strongest climbers. Competitors must balance power with precision as they navigate a difficult route under the pressure of a single attempt.
Competition Format
The Lead Climbing Semifinals are internationally recognised, where athletes are tested both physically and mentally. Competitors will get one push-off up a tall “wall” about 15 m high in the strict 6-minute time limit.
Unlike speed climbing, there is no competition among individual participants. Rather, their objective is to increase their elevation as fast as they can before the time runs out or a plunge happens.
