Competition Format

  • Teams play in qualification pool play.
  • Each team is head-to-head against each other team in their group.
  • A match is made up of 4 periods of 8 minutes each.
  • The placing of teams is based on the score in the match to allocate points.
  • If teams are tied on points, rules such as goal difference and any other official tiebreaker will be considered.
  • Top teams progress to the knockout phase where they will play for medals to be awarded at the end of the tournament.
