What Is Badminton at the Asian Games 2026?

Badminton Asian Games are also regarded as one of the most important intra-continental games that focus on the best players’ teams in Asia. The sport has featured at the Asian Games since 1962, and both the Badminton Asia Confederation and the Badminton World Federation are recognised as continental and international associations governing the sport by the Olympic Council of Asia.

At Aichi-Nagoya 2026, badminton will be divided into team competitions and individual competitions. The team programme is planned prior to the individual events, which run from 25th – 29th September.

Asian Games 2026 Badminton Team Events

The first badminton medals to be decided in Ichinomiya will be the team matches.

There are two ways of competing as a team:

  • Women’s team

Which Countries Are Competing in Asian Games 2026?

OCA says that there are 45 NOCs taking part in the Games of Asian Nations, including popular countries like China, India, Indonesia, Japan, the Republic of Korea, Malaysia, Thailand, etc. Pakistan is one of the countries taking part in the event too. There should be two stages to the competition.

Phase 1: Team Competition

The team events for men and women will be highlighted from 20-24 September.
