About This Event
The 100m is the blue-ribbon sprint event of every major athletics championship. Winning the 100m at the Asian Games carries enormous prestige across the continent and often signals a future medal contender at the World Athletics Championships.
Format
Heats and semifinals determine the eight finalists. The final is a single straight-line race of 100 metres on the Nagoya Mizuho track. All lane assignments are drawn by lot for the final.
