Beijing to host 2027 Sudirman Cup Finals from 21 April to 2 May

The Badminton World Federation has named Beijing as host of the 2027 Sudirman Cup Finals, to be played from 21 April to 2 May 2027. The announcement was made on 14 October 2026.

The Sudirman Cup is badminton’s world mixed team championship. Each tie is decided over five matches: men’s singles, women’s singles, men’s doubles, women’s doubles and mixed doubles. Asian teams have historically dominated, with China, Indonesia, Japan and South Korea among the leading nations.

Reports of the announcement say the tournament format will change for 2027. We will publish the confirmed format and groups once the BWF releases them.

Where it fits in the 2027 badminton season

The Sudirman Cup follows the Philippine Open (13–18 April) and comes before the Taipei Open (4–9 May) on the BWF calendar. See the full list in our 2027 badminton calendar for Asia.
