About This Event
Show Jumping tests the horse and rider partnership over a course of 12-15 coloured fences in an arena. Knockdowns cost 4 penalty points, first refusals cost 4 points, second refusals eliminate the pair. A fault-free round leads to a jump-off against the clock. The sport rewards accurate, careful riding with a brave and talented horse — and the ability to ride clear rounds under pressure.
Format
A qualifying round and a speed round determine finalists. Individual Final: one round over a Grand Prix course (approximately 14 fences). Clear rounds advance to a jump-off over a shortened course. Fewest faults wins; ties broken by fastest jump-off time.
Nations to Watch
Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar, and other Gulf nations have strong show jumping programmes with world-class horses and riders. Japan, South Korea, and China also field competitive jumping combinations. Show jumping is one of the most internationally competitive equestrian disciplines, with Asian riders competing on the global professional circuit.
