How the World Tour Finals work
The top eight players or pairs in each of the five disciplines on the season’s World Tour standings qualify. Each country can have at most two entries per discipline. Players are split into two groups of four, and the top two from each group reach the semi-finals. Hangzhou hosts the Finals for the final year of its current agreement, which began in 2023.
Asian storylines to follow
- Korea Open in Yeosu (3–8 Nov): a home event for women’s singles star An Se-young, who beat PV Sindhu in the French Open final.
- India’s late-season swing: the Syed Modi International in Lucknow, followed by the Guwahati and Odisha Masters, gives Indian players three home events in three weeks.
- Hong Kong Open (17–22 Nov) is the last Super 500 of the season before the Finals.
